At the time of the Emlounge under the era Muromachi, the Japan is marked by incessant conflicts. It is in this context of violence that many ninja are trained through the country. In the anonymity of this tide of warriors apprentices, Kyoteru must cope with the bullying of his classmates. Of all the talents physical that requires his ninja destiny, the young boy is master none. Its poor performance in training make the laughingstock of his clan, to the dismay of his father Basho. In order to regain some pride in the eyes of it and prove his worth, the boy only launches in a more perilous mission. Fortunately, he can count on the unconditional support of Kageko, little sister with whom he shares a strange as powerful link. In the 1990s, the small Kyoteru, victim of racketeering, hangs on the tree in his garden. Since then, the tree gave never leaves. Inspired by the various tragic fact, Jung and his wife Jee - Yun imagine this story of children ninjas in a feudal Japan. After Kwaidan and Oikya, the couple of Korean origin continues to feed the Delcourt catalogue with this new series published in the Collection land of legends.Located in the medieval Japan, the story of Jee - Yun feeds codes, values and terminology of time. A rich historical context which violence contrasts greatly with the youth of the characters. History invites especially to follow this Drudge overwhelmed by shame that does not reflect them on his father, if indeed the small Kageko which constitutes the main interest of this first installment. This child of the shadow (kage = shadow / KB = child) gives only the title of this album, but, through his silence, it also displays this desire to not want to associate with the cruelty of the adult world. While embodying the playfulness and innocence of children, Kageko thus isolates himself from reality and creates his own universe. So, this heroin out of the ordinary is the link with the supernatural part of the story and maintains the balance between the historical side and many fantastic elements.Graphically, Jung brings life to a gallery of very endearing characters, led by a white ninja's most intriguing. The careful decorum also facilitates immersion in this Asian historico-fantasy universe. If this placing in the mouth contains fun passages (Kyoteru infiltration in the castle of Sözen Yamada) and offers an interesting look on the past Japan through the eyes of children, the plot is however still struggling to completely convince.
