Comment avez-vous fait connaissance avec Franquin ou ses albums ? Quels sont votre premiers souvenirs de lui ? Avez-vous eu des contacts personnels ?
Comme tous les gamins, en lisant le journal Spirou, et ensuite les albums de Gaston...
J'ai eu la chance de le rencontrer en 1986 lors du jury de fin d'année de Saint Luc Bruxelles. La seconde rencontre, c'était chez lui... j'accompagnais un ami qui faisait des essais pour la reprise du Marsupilami !
J'ai été frappé par sa disponibilité et surtout son humilité. Quelle leçon !

Quel(le) est votre album, aventure, gag ou personnage préférée de Franquin et pourquoi ?
Pourquoi choisir ? Son œuvre est très complète ! Tout est bien chez lui !

Franquin a-t-il influencé quelque part votre style, votre manière de travailler ?
Je me rappele avoir étudié le dessin de Franquin pour son sens du mouvement. Je pense que ma première histoire courte publiée dans un Spirou "spécial noël" (jeux de guerre) est directement inspiré de son style (surtout pour les jambes et les bras).

Quel est selon vous l'impact de Franquin au monde de BD présent ?
Il suffit de regarder les catalogues des éditeurs... On y trouvera toujours des albums inspirés de son style graphique. Beaucoup d'auteurs ont été influencé d'une façon ou d'une autre par Franquin... En ce qui me concerne, mon dessin et mon univers est très éloigné du sien, mais j'ai été influencé par lui !!!
